Bio:
Ever since I was in diapers I wanted to be on the water. Growing up in Jupiter, Florida was a dream! My father alternated from working on sport fishing boats, charter fishing, and also did some commercial fishing. The ocean was rich with life back then, and even the marinas had great fishing; I don’t recall a time when fish wasn’t on the menu. I grew up on the docks, playing on the sandbars, and diving around the grass flats, and even making boats out of old wood, coolers & styrofoam. I often went commercial fishing with my dad, and even went with him on a few charters.
I had my first boat early on; It was an old Cobia with a rotted transom, that we stripped down to the bare hull, fiberglassed up, and put a 70 Johnson outboard on. While I loved that boat, we sold it a few years later, and began work on a 24’ Carolina skiff, because it was better suited for commercial fishing. I ran that boat, and caught tons of kingfish, snapper, grouper, and roe mullet out of. Later my dad decided to get out of the fishing industry, and I took over the operations of our family’s 24’ custom Morgan. I acquired my captain’s license fresh out of high school, and began running charters & commercial fishing that boat around 2001. I loved commercial fishing, and would fish Pecks lake, nearby reefs, and the Edge almost everyday for years. Around 2004-7 I worked on a few sport fishing boats, as enjoyable as traveling was I didn’t like being gone from home constantly.
In 2007 I made a career choice, and started work at TowBoat US Palm Beach, and in 2010 shifted north to Stuart to work with captain Woody Woodruff.I’ve been here ever since, and enjoyed the opportunities that have been presented. My only regret is that I didn’t pick up a camera years ago.
